The year 2020 is the biggest ghastly year in whole worldwide. I say this as a statement because as all of us know that we have been attacked by Covid-19. Due to the pandemic, we have also put a stop on our education and staying at home for almost 1 and a half months. In Malaysia, we have several public examination such as UPSR,PT3,SPM and STPM. I am supposed to sit for my PT3 examination as I am 15 years old this year.
Due to this Covid-19 lockdown, our Senior Education Minister in Malaysia, Dr. Mohd Radzi Md Jidin, announced that there will be cancellation of UPSR and PT3 whereas SPM and STPM is being postponed to year 2021. Once our education ministry announced, those students who are supposed to sit for UPSR and PT3 examination were feeling seventh heaven. Everyone has different state of feelings. Same goes to me. I was very sad after hearing the announcement, but I am also feeling happy on the other side of my heart because we haven't finish the syllabus of the subject at school due to the lockdown.
The Senior Minister Education, Dr. Mohd Radzi Md Jidin, also said that the evaluation will be done through a new method. The new method that has been introduced is classroom assessment which will be conducted by teacher.
Many parents are happy and said that their children can do their revision at the safety of their own home at this difficult moment. On the other hand, the school teacher are not being so worried after the announcement because they are scared that they can't finish teaching the syllabus before the examination.
Although the students at home enjoying their MCO(Movement Control Order) as holiday, the teachers working hard day till night to just prepare assignment or live classes with students. This is because that want their students to gain more knowledge although they stay at home. First and foremost, I am grateful for my school teachers because they work so hard to teach us. They also give us homework by Google Classroom whereas the also have live meetings with all the students using Zoom Cloud Meeting app.
Next, I have to thank my parents for their love and supports throughout my life. Thank you both for giving me strength to reach for the stars and chase my dreams. I am proud to get parents like them because they spend more time for me on keeping an eye on my studies.
In closing, I would like to advise the students that please do some revisions at home because we don't know what is going to happen in the future. We have been helped by our teachers, parents and so on but our effort is the main power that helps us to succeed in life. We should make sure that we don't have fun first because trouble is awaiting us anytime and anywhere.
